SATURDAY.

Swars campaign continues with a lovely couple weeks in Nar Shaddaa.  A great introduction for a new member proceeded the recap.  Syd (the character's name) engaged in a nasty street brawl, got shot dead in the head, then rose up from the ground revealing something special about his character.  He then preceded to butcher the enemies and get shot down again by their leader.  Well, the party decided he was dangerous and tied him to the hood of an air speeder for about an hour and a half of real time, all the while threatened by the soldier in the group with a stun baton in hand.  The irony of all of this is... the other prisoner they captured and tied up the same way got killed because he kept waking up, and the damage finally finished him off.  The only reason Syd survived was failed CON checks.

Much eating and fun was had.

Capped the night off with some Rainbow Six: Vegas 2, which I've now addicted my brother in law to.  /cackle

SUNDAY.

Woke up late, milled about, played some more Rainbow Six, then took my sister and her hubby to breakfast in Huntington Beach.  Got some heartattack on a plate thing, and walked about a bit.  Nicked over to my folks' place mid-afternoon to snag some costume supplies for Renn Faire, then back to my sister's to get ready for Phantom of the Opera.

Phantom was good.  Nothing beats a live performance of it, truthfully, even if it isn't Michael Crawford.  Some of the lyrical changes I didn't like so much, but so it goes.  Phantom really shaped my young self.  First time I saw it was when I was 12 (1992) and have been going every few years ever since.  I think I can safely saw that Phantom was partly the reason I dated a couple "goth" chicks back in the day, and why I find that aesthetic hot.
