Game Night. Saturday we had our first "game night" at Casa de J and K. It was great. >:-) On the list of games was Starcraft (boardgame), Munchkin, and Apples to Apples. Started out around 3:00PM or so teaching my brother-in-law how to play Starcraft. We ended up playing a 1v1 game for a couple hours. It was fun as it was the first "full game" I had played of Starcraft with another player. Hopefully I'll be getting more of those together soon.
Next on the list was Munchkin, which we played two rounds of. Steve pulled off a brilliant coup-de-grace on me right as I was winning. Pretty much sealed the deal. Second match I won by default. After discarding everything I had to prevent another player from winning, I drew a level 1 monster. It felt like cheating. Dumb luck.
Finally, we gathered everyone and played Apples to Apples. Basic rundown of the game is nouns and adjectives. Each player takes turns being the "judge" for an adjective, as the other players play noun cards face down that 'hopefully' correspond to that adjective. The results are hilarious. Played that until late into the evening.
One downside to the evening was my thinking that I could whip up lasagna in 30 minutes. I was woefully incorrect, and ended up ordering pizza instead. :( Another downside was missing a couple peoples. One of my buddies injured himself in a fall off a ladder and was resting up, and another had to work.
Sunday/Monday. Woke up Sunday feeling bleh. Had a headache all day. Probably too much drinking combined with too much Port of Los Angeles air. By Monday, another visit to the port of LA sealed the deal. Throbbing headache. Ick. Played Oblivion in the dark monday after work. My lady applied some massaging and tiger balm on the neck. I feel better, but still kinda ick.
